Happy Friday!!! April Goals are now SET!

I have been out of it for the last week or so dealing with some lupus issues. The good news is that my neurologist found the right combination of meds that is damn near a miracle cure. The bad news is that it knocks me on my ass and has me sleeping for 2-3 hours after every dose. It also makes me ridiculously hungry.

Not the way I wanted to start April, but I can't really kvetch too much about it. Once I get this narcoleptic feeling under control I feel like I can take on the world.

I've been talking about setting April goals for a while, and given everything that has transpired the first week, I have decided that April will be my month of getting back to eating for wellness. I've been sloppy with my diet, but now that I have yet another med working against me, I need to do all i can to keep my weight in check even while I don't feel well. I am still contemplating what the best food lifestyle change is best for me, so my posts this month will explore that.

So hopefully this month will be full of recipes and pictures of yummy foods and my getting back into my groove.

  1. Hope you get to feeling like yourself again soon! I have a friend with Lupus who struggled with it in school, but since has gotten it totally under control! I remember she had to change her diet dramatically though at first. It's good to hear you're noticing some improvements health-wise with your new meds!

    1. Thanks, Noelle. I know that I have to recommit myself to a paleo-like diet because that is the way I feel best, even when my symptoms from lupus aren't 100% under control. I just need to stick with it.

  2. Sorry that your meds are zapping your energy, but I'm glad they are helping to control your Lupus better. I spent most of last year in the hospital, and I don't know what was worse the pain or the meds!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Just keep giving your body the rest it needs, our bodies heal themselves when we are at rest.
