Productivity taking on new meaning

I've admitted before that I'm a certified workaholic...as the will be attending 12-step meetings and reading the big book. Productivity used to mean so many things to me, mainly trying to see how much I could fit into my day before the husband and the dog woke up. I would exercise, blog, go through all of my work emails, correspond with friends on the East Coast and occasionally eat breakast.

Today, as every day is, such a huge shift in perspective. I got up, did my PT exercises, and went back to bed. Hung out with the husband until the dog made his needs known.

I was productive but it looks so much different. What's more important, I am having FUN. I changed the sheets on my bed, sorted out my list for cvs, washed my makeup brushes, helped put stuff in the dishwasher and straightened up my scrapbooking section.

And my husband put on music and we DANCED! and LAUGHED!

I haven't felt this lighthearted in ages- at least a good 6 months.

I am enjoying where I am and what I can do and content with what I've accomplished.

My soul is growing to accept rest and fun as just a real part of life as the pain and annoyance. I am finally learning that I deserve to have fun and good times without having had slaved over something. I deserve fun just for the hell of it.
