After my Sunday trip to the yoga studio I totally crashed. I ended up taking a three hour nap, having dinner and then sleeping until 7 am the next morning. My body felt stretched and relaxed, but I still felt like crap. Lupus kind of sucks like that.
Trying to be a good patient, I called my doctor and let her know that I was still having major fatigue and joint pain. Given that my labs look good and I'm due for my monthly infusion next week, I had two options - tough it out or take more steroids. I hate steroids, so it was an obvious choice. I was also told to work less, sleep more and exercise more. We're in the middle of our event season, and we have our big luncheon on Thursday. It requires all hands on deck and working long hours until it's over. On top of my regular job, which is incredibly busy, I'm doing everything from researching celeb head shots to picking up gift bag items to working on scripts for speakers and so much more. I'm even the office model for handbags and accessories:
So I'm not sure how I can squeeze MORE sleep and exercise and less work in.
However, I'm tired of feeling like crap, so I got up extra early and did 25 minutes of yoga from the 30 Days of Curvy Yoga class that I signed up for. It was gentle, relaxing and a nice wake up. I also walked my dog for ten minutes.
Although I KNOW that exercise helps with inflammation, fatigue and pain it is sometimes so hard to get myself to actually do what I need to do. But between my weight loss goals and doctor's orders, I need to just get it done.
