How to exercise when you can't walk

I have a distinct disadvantage when it comes to weight loss. There are times, like the last few weeks, when I can't walk. It's a combination of lupus, fibromyalgia and the many other conditions I have, and it is annoying. As proud as I am for continuing to lose weight with just diet (which just proves that weight loss is really 80% diet), I want to break into a sweat!

So here is my plan of action starting today.

Supine and seated yoga poses - while savasana will always be a favorite, I am going to work on some seated supine poses that will help stretch my tired muscles. Here are some planned poses. I am still working on sequence.

- savasana
- knees to chest
- windmill knees
- leg pulls
- Pavanmuktasana wind relieving pose
- savasana
- sukhasana
- Paschimothanasana (seated forward bend)
- Ardha Matsyendrasana (half spinal twist)

I also want to incorporate some free weights into my life. Fitsugar has a great basic routine that I will start today as well.

- triceps pushes
- bicep and deltoid squeezes
- deltoid back squeezes
- right angle bicep curls
- square offs

Lets see how this goes.
