I purposely try to keep politics out of this blog and save it for my other one, as this is mainly about my journey to health. But given that this election was hitting home for me as a woman and someone with several chronic diseases without cures and more medical bills that I care to count, I couldn't let it go without commenting.
My own voting process was annoying but fairly painless. I went to the wrong voting location first, but only was online for 20 minutes, and made it to the actual polling location and voted before 9am. I then had a 5 hour infusion appointment during which I created this Election Day Montage.
Now on to what I really want to say.
Thank you to EVERYONE who voted. You are what makes the democratic process that makes this country so great work. Thank you for standing in line for hours. Special and amazing thanks to one of my best friends who decided that she had to vote before going to the hospital for brain surgery today.
I hope that we can move past the hatred, vitriol, and anger that has been festering for the last four years. I hope we can move ahead with the goal of creating a stronger, healthier (in all senses of the word) country.
We are the UNITED STATES. Let us stand united in the next four years for a better country, better citizens and a better world.
