This Friday is pretty damn fantastic. I started the week off with kicking off our Walk with Ease program and started my unofficial career as a fitness leader. I was also invited to join the
Girls Gone Sporty Crew, a group of AMAZING women who applied to be Girls Gone Sporty Ambassadors.

On Tuesday, the election went the way I wanted and I found out that my friend made it though brain surgery with flying colors. I also found out that I was selected to be a Greatist Ambassador.

Wednesday was a bit rough, because I had to take my dog to the vet. He had an allergic reaction to SOMETHING and ended up with his poor little face all swollen. But he was okay after a few shots of steroids and is better than ever.
Thursday came to me with renewed energy to clean my apartment, spend quality time with my dog, pack for my upcoming trip to DC and confirmation that the presentation I'm giving at next week's conference looks pretty good.

(Doesn't the conference badge look official?? I'm a bit intimidated to speak at a conference with over 16,000 attendees, but I'm excited)
Today is fantastic for several reasons. It's Friday. I will be able to wrap up some stuff that's been hanging over my head at work. I'm leading another session of Walk with Ease.

I realized I lost 2lbs this week. I'm going to finish packing for my trip. I have a standing dinner date with my lovely coworker/friend. I'm picking up my much needed meds from the pharmacy. I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow because I inadvertently booked a 10pm flight instead of a 10am flight tomorrow. I'm going to talk to my three best friends today -the one who had brain surgery and is now home, my bff in New Jersey, and my bff in LA. How awesome is that??
This week, while it's definitely had some tough moments, has given me a lot to be grateful for.
And it's given me a lot to think about. How am I going to get my fitness routines in while I'm in DC? With my lupus, the cold makes my joints horrifically painful? Will I do yoga in my room? Will I walk all the sites? Will I work out in the hotel gym? (Yes to all of the above). In the past, going out of town always seemed like an interruption of my fitness/health schedule, but this time it seems like an amazing opportunity to fit in workouts in fun new locations. Because working out is now becoming as important to me as taking my medications - all vital to my health.

How is your Friday fantastic?
