Thoughtful Thursday

Today's #NaBloPoMo prompt: How do you feel after you don't do something due to the risk?

Playing it safe always sounds like a good theory, but I've found in the last few years (the beginning of my 30s) that life is too short to always play it safe. As I've mentioned in previous posts on the topic, I am a big fan of calculated risks. There are very few times that I have taken a calculated risk and regretted it. However, on several occasions, I have regretted not doing something due to risk.

I am definitely a believer that you have to enjoy every moment of life, because you only have one to live. If you never leave your safety net, you'll never get to experience some amazing things. I'm very lucky that my husband and best friend feels the same way too. He's been instrumental in bringing me out of my shell and getting me to take risks. From moving across country to trying a dish I've never had before, he's always encouraging me to expand my boundaries and try something new.

I'm trying to keep that momentum going as I enter this new phase in my life. I want to try something every day that scares or challenges me. I want to participate in life, not simply let it go by.
