So I have a little over 1000 words for my new story, and at this rate I should finish by May 30, 2014. Unacceptable. One of the cool things about NaNoWriMo is that each day you get a pep talk from a famous writer like James Patterson. Each pep talk is different, but they basically tell you what the life of a writer is like, how they actually do work every day. One of my favorite lines was, "If you have time to blog or check facebook, you have time to write. Right now I'm struggling with inspiration. So I figured I'm going to take the approach I used take in grad school writing papers. I'm going to write whatever comes to me and put it in some meaningful order later. Like I have a great scene in my head that will advance the story line, but it's not appropriate until the middle of the book. Well, I blogged, so I have no excuse not to write today.
Finally, because I'm shallow like that, I have a great discussion going on Facebook about my hair. I've been especially lucky that my hair hasn't fallen out in big chunks. It falls mainly from the inside, and has made my hair incredibly thin. I used to have that great thick hair, and yes, it will grow back, but in the meantime I want to do something fun. My choices so far are bangs (which I haven't had since high school), shoulder length with layers, and/or dark blue highlights. I've got a while to decide, since I have one more treatment left and the hair will keep on falling out for a while after. Such is life.

I just had to put this one in to rep my peeps and because it's so stinking cute!!
