I started off with some yoga - some stretches, seated twists, cat/cow, balasana, sukhasana, upward dog, downward dog, cobra, and of course savasana. Then I did 2 reps of skull crushers, tricep dips, pushups, plank holds, situps, and crunches. I ended with reverse savasana - mainly lying on my stomach relaxing all my muscles.
It feels good to have a morning routine that will help strengthen the rest of my practices. I haven't started on my C25K yet, but am hoping to start tonight or tomorrow.
I keep thinking back to something my favorite yoga instructor, Fred, said on Tuesday. He said, "What's stronger, your intentions or your habits?" as a way to encourage us to stick with our practice beyond the typical new year's resolution. I've always had the strongest of intentions, and I now want to make my habits even stronger. Because this is the year I will change. Dramatically.
Now I'm off to meditate for a bit before getting ready for the day.
