Making Sure My Habits are Stronger than My Intentions

Despite the fact that I had a hard time going back to work this week and had a totally screwy sleep schedule, I managed to do really well with my exercise/health. I made mostly good food choices, and I added in some strengthening exercises. My coworker, a former trainer, gave me some good tips, as did my fellow SweatPink, GirlsGoneSporty and Greatist Ambassador friends.

Since I've got a work conference call scheduled for this morning, I'll be going to an afternoon yoga class. But that's not stopping me from getting the rest of my workout in. This morning, I walked my dog as a nice warmup, then came inside to get down to work. I did about half an hour of yoga, and then got to the fun stuff: Three rep of shoulder presses, bicep curls, flys, reverse flys, tricep dips, tricep skull crushers, a few other arm exercises I can't remember the names of, crunches, and plank holds.

I ended with some restorative yoga and a ten minute meditation. I feel really good about it, and feel like it's definitely improving my yoga.

I then checked in with my Facebook page and saw that I broke 100 followers. I think I may even have cracked 400 twitter followers. That's insane!! It's just little ol' me talking about what I do.

It's super exciting to see so many amazing people on their fitness journeys and supporting mine. Being an ambassador has really opened my eyes to the awesome communities out there, and it's nice to have my own little group of people interested in similar things :). I've said it several times this week, and I'll say it again. To everyone who is new to following me on Twitter, Facebook or this blog:

My big goal for the weekend is to establish a decent 5k training program for myself. I've done a 5K and a half marathon before, so I know what I need to do. When I did those events, I was easily 30lbs heavier, so I am interested in seeing what a difference it will make for me. I know that right now, as of this moment, I could walk the 5K with no problem, but I want to beat my previous time (I walked 95% of that one).

I also really want to get back to reading two books that I've been meaning to pick up and really dive into for a while - Mindfulness in Plain English and the Yoga Sutras of Pantajali.

What are your weekend plans?
